If a strike was made on the first attempt, mark it with an 'X' in the small box. Add 10 points (for the strike) to the total number of pins that was recorded in the previous box and write it down in the totals area of that particular frame. 6. If a second strike followed the first one, add 10 points for the first strike, another 10 for the second, but before closing the tally for this particular frame, record the number of pins that fell on the next frame's first attempt. Ankles Standing up straight, place your hands on your hips (or hold on to something for balance) and raise one leg up, bending at the knee. Point your toes to the floor, and then rotate your foot to loosen up the ankles. Do this for about eight counts clockwise and then another eight in the opposite direction. This technique is characterized by employing the "by the book" style of playing that entails the proper execution of even movements, keeping square shoulders to the target all the way through the release of the ball, and maintaining an on-time move at the "foul line." This is the "classic" technique of most bowlers because it employs smooth and controlled movements and lessens the possibility of injuries. It features a colored PBA logo because these pins are standardized and are used only in tournaments set by the PBA. They also have pins that have logos on the bottom of the pin that may be used in a regular bowling game. The third type of pin is the Wimsom pin. Brunswick has incorporated its production to the Brunswick "Max", with a trade mark logo on it. If he sticks to the normal timing only, he will not be able to determine whether the faster or slower timing caused a bad shot. 4. The player should learn to adjust to different conditions. Bowling is a mental game. Coping with different conditions is one way of exhibiting this skill. The player should be sensitive to different factors such as the balls, movements, players and even the condition of the lanes. It is best to hold your breath for about 6 counts in between deep breaths in order to condition the lungs. This will enable the person not to tire so easily. 5. Warm up before stretching Even if stretching is part of a bowler's warm up routine, it is still important to do some warm up exercises before stretching those muscles.
